The Postgraduate Program in Meteorology of UFAL began in the 80s with the offer of specialization courses in the area of ​​Agrometeorology of the Semi-Arid. These courses were primarily intended for professionals with a degree in Meteorology, Agronomy Engineering and Agricultural Engineering, aiming to improve the training of teachers, researchers and professionals working in the area of ​​Geosciences and related. Subsequently, in 1999 the course was created at the level of Academic Master in Meteorology, in the area of ​​Surface Surface Processes.
